Science Hill head football coach Stacy Carter joined NETN & SWVA Sports Zone's Coaches Corner on Thursday, ahead of Friday's Class 6A playoff first-round game against Hardin Valley at Science Hill.
Carter talked about how a young Hilltopper team has bounced back from last week's 42-21 loss at Dobyns-Bennett, saying the kids are learning to deal with adversity and get through it, and that the team is taking it one game at a time. He said Science Hill's run-first identity held up even in the loss, with the running backs running really hard, and that the offense had to be methodical to move the ball.
On running back Kiantai Harris, Carter said he does not think Science Hill will have him for the rest of the season.
On quarterback Pearson Harrison, Carter said he has to manage the game and protect the football, and that the team cannot turn the ball over the way it did in the second half at Dobyns-Bennett.
On Hardin Valley, back in the playoffs for the first time since 2018, Carter said the Hawks will be motivated, run a very good, efficient offense, and execute really well.
