Hardin Valley head football coach Tyler Wynn joined NETN & SWVA Sports Zone's Coaches Corner on Wednesday, ahead of Friday's Class 6A playoff first-round game at Science Hill.
Wynn talked about Hardin Valley's return to the playoffs for the first time since 2018, saying his kids are excited to be back in a game that matters this late in the season. On the plan against Science Hill, he said Hardin Valley will do what it does, with the biggest thing being to control what it can control and limit big plays.
He also talked about senior leadership, saying his seniors have taken ownership of the team and led the way all season, not just this week. And he laid out the program's four core values — resiliency, investment, and selflessness — saying, 'We don't want to be a team that is dependent on any one person. We want to be dependent on people as a whole,' and, 'My brother's success is my success.'
Wynn closed the regular season with a 58-22 win over Ooltewah, with eight different players scoring.
