Friday Night Finals — November 6, 2026: Dobyns-Bennett’s Comeback Stuns Oak Ridge

Friday night, November 6, 2026, belonged to the comebacks.

Dobyns-Bennett trailed Oak Ridge 20-0 at halftime in the Game of the Week — the Class 6A playoff first round at J. Fred Johnson Stadium — and came all the way back to win 21-20. Oak Ridge had won the first meeting 42-38 back in September. This time the Indians move on.

Ridgeview did the same thing in the Mountain 7 District Championship at Legion Field. Gate City led 21-12 at halftime, but Ridgeview rallied to win 24-21 and take the district title.

Science Hill held off Hardin Valley 27-24 in the Class 6A first round, a game that was 13-10 at the half. And Cosby, the Region 1 champions, rolled Midway 48-8 in the Class 1A first round after leading 26-0 at halftime.
