KINGSPORT — Dobyns-Bennett made senior night a good one Friday, stomping Bearden 28-7 at J. Fred Johnson Stadium.
The Tribe scored on their first four possessions and never looked back, keeping Bearden out of the end zone until 5.2 seconds remained in the game.
"Their offense couldn't run on us tonight," D-B head coach Joey Christian said. "Proud of the defense."
Emmitt Starnes rushed for 104 yards on 19 carries before leaving in the third quarter with an elbow injury. Kedrick Harris added 87 yards on the ground for the Tribe.
Dobyns-Bennett (6-3) now turns its attention to next Friday night, when Science Hill visits Kingsport with the Region 1-6A title on the line.
